USAID/INSPIRE - Prevention of Human Trafficking

The project “Strengthening the Prevention of Human Trafficking through Establishing Mobile Support for Families at Risk” will provide direct support and access to social services for families at risk through a multidisciplinary approach of the Family Strengthening Program. This program includes services in education, health, and social protection.

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the prevention of human trafficking in accordance with the “Strategy for Combating Human Trafficking in BiH 2024-2027.” This goal is based on the identified need for preventive and supportive activities related to human trafficking in the target areas of Gračanica, Lukavac, Doboj Istok, Srebrenik, and other locations as needed.

The interventions aim to achieve the overall goal by directly enhancing prevention efforts in working with families at risk and raising awareness among key stakeholders in the Federation of BiH and Tuzla Canton. This will enhance the impact of all undertaken activities and ensure sustainability, reflected in two specific objectives:

  1. Establishment of preventive services for families at risk of human trafficking in Tuzla Canton.
  2. Establishment of a mechanism for combating human trafficking in the Federation of BiH.

The activities that will be carried out under the first specific objective are aimed at providing psychosocial and other forms of direct support to families at risk of human trafficking, as well as establishing a coordinated approach to combating human trafficking in the Tuzla Canton area.

The project is financed with the support of the American people, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within the Human Rights Protection Support Program (USAID/INSPIRE).
